Prelude

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

Call To Worship

Liturgist: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.

Congregation: Oh, come, let us adore Him. Christ the Lord!

L: He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him.
Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name,
He gave the right to become children of God.

Congregation: Oh, come, let us adore Him. Christ the Lord!

L: The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.
We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Congregation: Oh, come, let us adore Him. Christ the Lord!

L: From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.
For the law was given through Moses; and grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Congregation: Oh, come, let us adore Him. Christ the Lord!

Congregational Hymn I

O Come, All Ye Faithful (234) - v. 1

Lighting Of Advent Candle

Ebenezer & Lu Garcia

Reader I: This is the fourth Sunday in Advent.
Today, we light the three purple candles and one pink candle.

Reader II: The first Sunday of Advent, we lit the candle of hope.
The second Sunday of Advent, we lit the candle of peace.
The third Sunday of Advent, we lit the candle of joy. Today, we light the candle of love.

RI: Sometimes, all we see around us gives a different message than the message of love.
Yet, we can trust God’s promises of salvation.
When we look at the fourth candle, we remember God’s promise of love.
We recall the words of Jesus in John 3:16: “God so loved the world, that He gave us His Son,
that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

RII: In times of pandemics, it’s hard to remember that God’s love is
expressed through sending us Jesus, our Savior.
As we celebrate Christmas Sunday today,
let God’s presence swell our hearts with hope, peace, joy and love.

RI: When we look at the fourth candle, we remember God’s promise of peace.
We recall the words of Jesus in John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.”
In times of war and hatred, it’s hard to remember that Jesus is the one who brings peace.
As we celebrate Christmas Sunday, let us remember that God’s presence brings peace.

RI: Let us pray together.

All: God, Thank You for Your Son, Jesus, who is Emmanuel - God with us, the Prince of Peace.
Help us feel Your love in our hearts today, so that Your love overflows unto others through us.
Come, let us adore You, Christ our Lord!
